ABOUT ME
A native of Bucks County, PA, Barbara (Babs) lived in Japan for three years (1960-1963) absorbing its culture and studying haiku written by the ancient masters. Its direct simplicity appealed to her. After returning to the US, she started writing haiku as a quiet-time activity.
A mother of three sons, she has lived a single life among many friends since the early 1970s. Having achieved Master of Yoga status with Swami Vishnudevananda, she introduced yoga practice to students in the Hampton, Virginia, area in the 1970’s where she taught for fifteen years. She continues to teach in Arizona.
In the mid-1980s, Barbara initiated a coalition of Virginia's Lower Peninsula residents who successfully opposed a planned new trash burner. They proposed regional curbside recyling and established State legislative benchmarks to support that goal. This was the first institutionalized, curbside recycling program in Virginia.
Babs moved to Apache Junction, AZ in 1995. Presently, her favorite pasttimes are birding and photograpy. You might notice her love and appreciation of nature in SUN MOON SKY.
